[s-cars] High/low beam switch

It's been a few years since I have been able to pull back on the stalk to flash my high beams.  Lately it won't even let me turn the high beams on unless I mess with it while turning the wheel and even that is a 50/50 shot.
Is this new part time or can it be disassembled, cleaned and reassembled?  Any instructions, advice or precautions on doing this?
