hi mike,
correct, no poking.
what i'd do first, is stop the chemichal reaction thats going on,, you can
get rust neutralizers everywhere, do a google search even. personally i know
and trust POR-15, they sell a solution intended to neutralize the rust then
etch it before you paint it with POR.. but im pretty sure even things like
wd-40 or PBblaster will stop it for now.
then gently sand it down, you shouldnt have to go wild, just dont kink them
if you pull em off the hangers.
i personally wouldnt want to replace the lines unless you have to. cant
really tell how far gone though w/o seeing.
