[s-cars] More S6 ebay items.../No more!

First of all Darren, I believe I politely sent this request to you in
private rather than making an example of you in public on the list. Your
reply however was done to the entire list which in my opinion is in poor
taste. It was never my intention to chastise you just to ask that you not
use the list as an eBay clearning house.

I can understand why you feel this is unfair, after all you are wanting to
sell your stuff. You ask where I was when other list members were having
garage sales? Right here monitoring the list. You also missed one
important point... these "garage sales" as you put it were typically
heads-up notes to the list saying that an individual was cleaning out the
garage/basement and had the following stuff available if anyone was
looking.

I am not God therefore I cannot be everywhere at once. I am also not the
owner of this list or email server therefore many of these guidelines have
come from the original quattro list on Audifans. As a member of the list,
you know that we do try to keep things more casual and most 'ads' are
allowed to slide by... I think most members appreciate this and for the
most part it is self policing. In the instance that an eBay auction is
referenced, it is typically a heads-up posted by another list member
rather than the seller himself/herself.

Promotion of eBay auction listings are strictly prohibited within the
Audifans classifieds and this is why I also discourage members posting
lists of eBay auction links within posts to the lists. If you are having
a garage sale, by all means post your stuff within the Audifans and S-CAR
Classifieds first and then give us a heads-up on it. You'll likely find
some buyers and save yourself the eBay fees.

I don't recall Europrice or Shokan posting directly to the list trying to
move inventory. I also don't recall any of them posting lists of stuff
they were selling on eBay.

You seem to view the list as some elitist political thing and if that is
the way the world looks to you, then I am sorry. Just because the
suggested rules don't fit your purpose you paint me as some elistist ruler
that makes my own rules blah blah blah. Dry that out and you can
fertilize the lawn. Anyone who knows me knows that I don't pick favorites
here and this is why I politely asked that you not post links to a bunch
of ebay auctions. I know full well you're not some new list member out to
cheat other list members. Whether you are asking a lot or a little for
your items is not the point here. If you think this policy regarding ebay
listing promotion stinks, bring it up with the actual owner of the list,
Dan Simoes. I am sure that you'll get a similar response.

As the moderator of this list I try to let things go and work themselves
out naturally whenever possible. We're a pretty good natured group here
and it does generally sort itself out. As you know, I did let your first
post slide by without any mention now didn't I? When the second one hit
the list it raised some questions from other list members and that is when
I dropped you a line asking you to refrain from doing it again.

It was merely a simple request and nothing more. Like I said, use the
Audifans and S-CAR Classifieds first (both are free after all) and then
give us a heads-up about what you have posted in the classifieds. Seems
fair enough?
