Chad,

Started clutch replacement today. Almost ready to take out transmission.
Have a few questions.

1. Do I have to remove rear driveshaft completely? I disconnected front, but
it doesn't seem to go up or down.
Bentley say to remove completely, but then I need to center it, blah, blah..

Shouldn't have to remove the drive shaft. As I recall there is a small metal
plate under it that prevents it from falling if it should come loose. If you
haven't taken this out this could be preventing enough movement. It should
come out of the way just enough then you might be able to tie it up inside the
tunnel.

2. You said that you jacked engine up with piece of 2x4 and regular jack.
Did you jack at front portion of oil pan?
Where did you put this 2x4?

Yes at the front of the oil pan. It doesn't take a lot of force to tilt it.

People, I don't mind doing work, but I HATE this mess from driveshafts!!! :)
That a worst part of whole job for me.

Hee hee. Yes very messy. Putting plastic bags over the ends will help.
