You're not alone Thompson, seems this weather brings out these issues.
Been a number of A/C related posts on the List lately.  Sorry I'm of no
help, you asked the wrong dood!

Maybe you've BTDT on these... (I'm not subbed to the S6 list now)  
Current patient is my '95 S6 w/165k mi.

1. The A/C compressor sounds like the hamster has bitten the dust  
inside and "rattles" when turned on. Still blows cold but, doesn't  
sound or feel so good when driving. New compressor time?

2. The left side (red) HVAC flap motor died (I rigged up a R/C  
control line to get by - ha!) Are these easy to r&r?

3. ALL the temperature control lights died (so I can't se a bloody  
thing) AND if you select any temperature above "LO" it starts to blow  
hot air. Maybe the control unit died and the red flap motor is still  
good? NOTE: I did pull the code on the HVAC head unit a while ago and  
it said that the red side flap motor was not right.

Any help on these would be kewl, TIA.
