dave,

take a look at your results. i just tried it, and got 209 hits.
do you think it's just a little odd that there were only 209 hits for
TURBO in all of the audi lists over many years? only 209 posts in which
people used the word "turbo"? i didn't find any results from recent
posts to the list.

remember all the discussion of the GT3071? run a search and see if you
can get any hits. i didn't get any. try "garrett" and you get two
hits, both for a guy named geoffrey garrett. absolutely nothing about
garrett turbos. zippo. zilch. after i send this email, GT3071 and
garrett should show up in the archives and the search function should
find them, but i bet it's not going to.

i think the archives got reformatted, and even though they're supposedly
.txt files, the yahoo and google search engines don't seem to be able to
read them. i downloaded all the .gz files from
www.audifans.com/pipermail/s-car-list
i extracted a bunch of the .txt files and saved them. i told the
yahoo desktop search program to search those files, and it says it
can't view them. these are supposed to be plain text files but for
some reason, yahoo desktop can't read them, and apparently the
yahoo and google search engines can't, either.
