[s-cars] was Fuel Pressure - changing lines

Just some input. I completely replaced both the "to and fro" fuel lines on
my S2. I would guess the S4 has roughly the same general layout of the lines
and hence the same problems. I didn't patch. My lines were leaking in 2
places and I figured sooner or later they would start somewhere else. I used
OEM, pre-bent fuel lines.
If I did it again, I would not go with OEM lines. Even on a lift, it is
impossible to get the lines in place and installed without unbending them.
My BTDT. I would get 2 sections of straight lines for the long section from
front to back (on my car anyway). I would use slightly larger dimension
lines to avoid pressure drops along the line.
I would then get 4 flexible braided lines and patch 2 up into the engine bay
and 2 back to the fuelpump/filter.
The clamshell rubber clamps were also aIso a pain to get in place with the
bent and unbent lines exerting all kinds of pressure in the wrong
directions. I would clamp the works with Adel-Wiggins.
All in all, I think this would have cost less and been easier to install
than the OEM lines.
