[s-cars] 1.8T coil odd behavior

I doubt it is an issue with the oxy sensor, as stated earlier, it does not 
have impact on the engine during warm up.
You could check the voltage to the coils during this "off" period to see if 
the heater may be pulling the voltage down, though I doubt it.

If you had a data logging voltmeter / scope you could see what changes on 
the power & signal lines to the coil paks.
Failing that you may need a automotive ignition scope to check the waveform 
of the spark during this warm up period.

Does leaving the ignition on with out the engine running, as sorta a coil 
warm up period, have any impact.
Also try disabling the fuel pump and crank for 30 seconds or so (10 or so at 
a time) to warm the coils up.
This may not single out the coil paks entirely but may help to see if a 
"warm up" helps.
