[s-cars] 1.8T coil odd behavior

Dave (and others):  As the person who had run the 1.8t coil pack the 
longest, I can say that what you are experiencing shouldn't relate to
the 
conversion, at least the way that I did it.  I those symptoms once -
but it
 was because I forgot to put the throttle body switch connector back
on
 when I was changing the alternator regulator. (check the connection?)

As for the life of the 1.8t coil packs under the 20v Turbo cover, I
don't 
know. A fellow on AudiWorld (Germanytoy/Nick) seemed to report a
failure
 after about two weeks under the cover.  A fellow on the S2 forum
(where
 they have done a lot of DIY conversions using my instructions), Corey
 who is a 034efi dealer in Britain is running his coil pack cover as a
"science
 project" (despite my warnings).  Last time I checked, after about a
 month, everything was fine.  I would still be concerned and continue
to
 recommend NOT running the cover.
