[s-cars] crank pulley

I just fixed this on my father's car about a month ago. The rubber
bonding on the balancer got a bit old and dry and let loose. The result
was that the front 'ring' on the balancer could be turned and wiggled by
hand. The problem first manifested itself as a metallic sounding
'ker-ching' when pulling away from a stop or revving the engine. The
balancer was dealer only and it came through the Audi dealer in Rochester,
MN. The uber expensive washer was not needed. I inspected the original
vs the new one and there was NO difference in the two. In our case the
washer was $50 or so and was sent back for a refund. The balancer and
key/crank pulley appear to be attached but they come apart with a little
work. ;-)

I did replace the lower crank seal and slipped on a new timing belt while
I was in there....
