Slightly loosen the fuel line at the fuel filter after you have cranked 
for a few seconds.  The fuel should spray out if there is pressure.  If 
not, you may have not installed the pump correctly.  If the pump is 
working correctly, it should only take about 5 seconds of cranking to 
fill the line and build pressure.
