Ohh how VERY familair...
Since I have a mounted fuel pressure guage on my rail I can see pressure (at
least now)
What prompted all this was exactly what you desribe.
I found that the check valve at the fuel pump was stuck open, a bit. This
would allow the fuel pressure to drain down and result in this hard to start
situation.
I guess there is some setting in the ecu that expects there to be enough
fuel pressure in the system to fire the engine before it (the ECU) turns on
the fuel pump.
I blew a weee bit of compressed air down the supply hose to dislodge any
particles, worked fine after that.
