[s-cars] Touble Using Ross-Tech VAGCOM on a 93 S4

I am trying to use a Ross-Tech Twin-USB Dual-K VAG/ISO USB Interface
(Rev. B) on my 93 S4, using the version 409-1 shareware and running
Windows 98 on an older P2 IBM Thinkpad.  I have the adaptor for the
2x2 plugs.

When I try to "test" the ports I get the following error message
"Ross-Tech USB Interface not found: Interface not found"

Key is in "on" position and green light is lit on the interface.

Any BTDT's?
