I agree with Dave on not going smaller, but but my experience at Sea level is different. It pulls to redline and has a great boost threshold depending upon your software.

I only have experience with the 3071.  Based on how it worked, I would  
never 
consider going smaller.  It hit very early, even at my  altitude.  It 
does 
run out of steam around 7k, unlike the GT30R.  I  also have one that I 
used for 
only a few weeks that I would be willing to  sell.
