I feel your friends pain, I'm always worried about transactions like
this.

If he used Paypal with a credit card, then he can file a claim with his
cc company. This is the way I always do business on the internet with
privates, give me a security blanket.

Short of showing up at this person's doorstep, I'm not sure what else he
can do.

Where in Canada is this person?
