[s-cars] CUMho's

you're right, i was talking about the KDWS. sorry about the typo.

interesting how our experiences are so different. i didn't like
the dunlop SP9000s much. i felt they were compromised compared to the
SP8000s - wet traction was not significantly better, and steering response
was worse.

the KDWS is a quiet tire. i can push the car hard enough in corners to
make the tires slide, and the tires barely make any noise. i wonder how
much has to do with the fact that you and i used different tire sizes on
different cars.

FWIW, i'm not a michael schumacher, but i have two cars with roll cages and
at least four sets of race tires. the toyo RA-1 is not a particularly
sticky race tire. its main asset is that it is a durable, consistent tire
whose grip doesn't fall off much between the first and twentieth heat cycle.
i love hoosiers, but they're pretty pricey so i usually buy kumho V700s
(ever since BFG stopped making the comp T/A R1). i do know when a tire
sucks, and the KDWS doesn't. it is no R compound tire in all-season guise,
but it is grippy and responsive enough to be fun, and it gets me around
in snow and rain.

i agree it's better to have dedicated summer and winter tires, but the
KDWS suits my uses quite well.
