my issue with the SP9000 was related to the soft sidewall.

the KDWS is quiet.  the SP8000 was noisy, especially when new.  i got
a lot of humming from those tires.  none from the KDWS.  both tires
are quiet in enthusiastic driving.  the KDWS seems to have a slightly
better ride, but also has sharper steering response than the SP8000.  i
figure that's what you get from a decade of tire development (the SP8000
is an old design and ceased production several years ago).
