just to be clear: i'm not saying that these rotors are junk. i'm just
saying these don't seem like they're going to last very long, but i'm
willing to be proven wrong.
these rotors have a lot of tweaks that potentially compromise their
structural integrity: bent mounting tabs, unusual vane layout requiring
stiffening ribs to be added, and last, but certainly not least, the
slots that go all the way through the rotor surfaces. pretty, yes,
but durable? durable enough to last a season? or at least half a season?
i'm skeptical. if you get them, check them frequently for cracks. if
you see any cracks at the ends of slots extending substantially radially
outward or inward, apply the flotation test.
as a guy i know would say: it is possible to get away with that... for a
while. it is also possible to confine a live angry ferret in your
pants... for a while.
