RE: the Racing Brake 2-piece rotors....

I think Teddy's concerns are definitely something to look into.

I have heard both positive and negative on those rotors on NASIOC- one guy
had big
problems with a set that the company blamed on incorrect rotor alloy for the
application,
they made good on it and I think the guy is generally happy.

The negative to that is that it wasn't clear if you buy OTS components if
you will
always have that problem or if it was just a fluke.

The KVR 2-piece rotors are fixed hat so they should not creak or squeak.

The DBA 5000 series 2-piece rotors are floating, don't know if they make
noise.

TWR racing 2-piece rotors are beefy, they weigh about the same as stock
1-piece, but
supposedly very strong and they have a lot of rotor material (better heat
sink- a lot of the
2-piece designs have less metal in them so they can claim greater weight
saving than if they
made a 2-piece version of the OEM rotor).

Having heard Teddy's concerns with floating rotors, I'm very tempted to just
go with the KVRs,
which are made in Canada and not Australia or Japan (Project Mu, Endless,
etc.)- easier rotor
ring replacement and easier to deal with any defect issues. The only concern
with KVR is that I
think they were using a Coleman disc, which don't have a good reputation.

If I had an Evo, the 993tt rotor rings would be correct dimensionally, so it
would just be a matter
of having someone like KVR make me hats. Since my rotors are an odd size,
that's not going to
be that easy (326x30). Heck, the V70R would be perfect as well (332x32).
