[s-cars] Wheel Locks

I agree with Harold. I had the same problem with my old wheel locks (don't
remember and don't want to remember the brand) and removed the security bolt
in 2 minutes with a special socket readily available from NAPA (after
destroying the first wheel because I didn't know these sockets exist).
But if you really want security bolts, I found the design from Momo to be
cleverer than the one I bought at the beginning. The socket is one piece
molded design instead of a key attached to a socket. Besides, the kit comes
with two sockets so you have a spare one in case you break the first one.
And, as usual, NEVER use an impact gun or let someone use one on security
bolts, whatever the mechanic tell you about how he's so precise to gauge
torque with his impact (Don't ask how I know). The bolts are usually made of
soft metal to have more friction but most brands' sockets are made of
papermash sprayed with metallic silver (Momo supposedly use a paper of
better quality).

Personally I think wheel locks are a waste of time. Most shops have tools to
get them off without a key. If shops have them, thieves have them.
I would stay away from McGuard. Funny shaped "key" pressed into socket. I
have had the key rotate in the socket, thus not being able to remove the
security bolt.
