Subject: [s-cars] Germany Trip
I was in Germany from April 27 to May 6th. It was an interesting
experience.>>>
Scott-
Really enjoyed the read, thanks for sharing. Sounds like you all
covered some really cool bases there.
It made for good lunchtime reminiscing. Wife, me & inlaws did that very
similar trip (plus lots of rest of Europe), stayed in Stuttgart, toured
Zuffenhousen Porsche museum, MB museum, etc. in 2000. Aside from having
my kids that trip was ***the coolest bestest thing*** I've done in my
life. We vow to get back and do it again, highly encouraged. You're
right being a car guy there is like being surrounded by bliss, even down
to the stupidest little cars or their respective Euro quirks. Love all
of it.
We did 3k miles in a Peugeot 406td, and kept it pegged at 201kmh (max
downhill) for likely 2,900 worth of them heh heh. 5 laps @ der Ring
went similar to yours, tho thankfully without the carnage. Read up on
the specs of that place, forget, but it's got some ghastly average daily
fatality rate (mostly bikers on weekends). With my
white-knuckled-cameraholding-wife in front I think I managed a 13:00
lap, with her exclamating the entire time (on tape for her future
incrimation). Damn car was too rev'd for 3rd but too bogged in 4th, not
a good combo out there. Nothing I say nothing beats experiencing that
place. A sacred experience. Think of Keith Maddock here and his TEN
THOUSAND ring miles in his 968 and Golf. Wow.
Again, tx for the read, keep up the good work out there.

ps. loved the bit about France, same observation here! Sorry (!!!)
Fredric (if you still read here - we miss you regardless of smelly
people!)
