Subject: [s-cars] RS4 test drive, wowieee!!!
I was invited to the Audi ride and drive event in Philadelphia yesterday
morning, probably due to my wifes 2002 Audi Allroad which was about to
run
out of warranty (trying to sell me a new one eh?) . The deal was i had
to
drive the new Q7 for about 10 minutes (very nice rig) and then i could
choose to drive up to three other audis through a small, short autocross
course. The new 3.2 DSG TT was a blast, the A3 DSG also very nice and
the
A8l was suprisingly nimble for the size. But the ride along side Audi's
race
car test driver and ex-rally racer Uhle something-or-other, in the new
RS4,
was the best roller coaster ride i ever had. The autocross course was
short,
but featured a nice straightaway with a sharp 180 at the end. Uhle
entered
the straight at about 35mph and ran it up to about 75 before beginning
to
wiggle the rear end in rally car fashion, only to drift the car around
the
180 with all four wheels with all four spinning and sliding in perfect
harmony. I've owned and raced Super-Vee's and done some pretty silly
stuff
in them, but this ride gave me goosebumps and taxed my anti-perspirant.
3 laps wasn't enough, but quite a thrill! The whole shebang is off to
Atlanta for next weekend then, Dallas I hear. May i suggest you contact
your
local dealer or sales rep and see if you cant score a ticket to get in.
They
also had lots of freebies like coffee, beer, food, massages (welcomed
after
a very tense RS4 ride) as well as a real live R8 to touch and feel. Has
anyone else experienced this?

Um, yeah. I think I "heard" something about this event 8-).
Just ask Bill 1 ride 3 ticket punches Baloney Mahoney about it. And
here we thought by the time the event moved along there'd only be
pictures of the cars by that point.
-Paul might have driven some cars, or something K.
