[s-cars] Window up not down

Folks
My 94 cabrio drivers window will not go down.
I have removed the door panel and applied 12 volts directly in both
polarities but it only makes a wee click.
There are two screws that hold the motor to the window cable winder, butthey
are unwilling to move.
So my questions are
Can just the motor be replaced
or
Is it all part of a closed loop cable assembly?
Right now the cables feed into the winder, but I do not know how to
disconnect.
Any help would be appreciated.
