Greg,

You're correct. The wheels for any of the late '80s, early to mid 
'90s small and midsize Benzes will have the correct bolt pattern. 
The big cars (S class) have a different bolt pattern.

Many of the stock MB wheels will have a larger offset.

Wheels for new MBs may also have the appropriate bolt pattern, but 
I'm not sure.

With regard to hubcentric rings -- you can order a new set of BBS 
rings from tirerack.com. Pry off the old ones with a large 
screwdriver and pop the new ones on, and you're all set!
