Its generally the sender unit. Audi's system is partly fail-safe
because it requires that two senders agree within a certain %. It is
not uncommon for them to slowly go out of calibration. in an
unregulated system, the oil pressure varies with RPM, so they could be
within spec at some RPMs and out at others.
of course, you also might have no oil pressure. So check carefully.
But I doubt it.
