Dude, that's so lame. My heart breaks for you.
And you sir have achieved a new state of You Ruleness - continue track
junkiness post kiddies, maintain stupid Audi, and saddle wifey up with
daily fam trans in a 325ix. Again, you rule. Wayway more man than I!
I really dug the 2.3-16, fabulous car. Talk about an intake note! The
E28 ///M5 was a hoot too, definitely. That thing made wundrous
sillynoises too from them 6 butterflies.
Few pics of both as you scan your way down the left column:

2.3-16 @ LRP - good times, seems 1,000 years ago unfort.

So you decide to part or not to part? Replacement contenders?

Paulie,
I hear ya about the time factor.
I get attached to these things, so I feel bad letting it go to the
wrecker. I feel some strange sense of duty to try to keep it on the
road. Then there are the expensive parts that I put in a few months ago
that just kill me, new strut housing for 440 each, lower control arms
225 a piece, Bilsteins all round, links and other doodads,
radiator....I'm getting a headache....Might be time to cut the cord and
have a stiff drink.
There were about 2,640 brought to this side of the pond between 88-91.
I think that at the time, they cost more than an E30 M3 if you can
believe that.
I liked those 2.3-16's as well as those E28 M5's.
