  I was getting smoke at start up and idle and in first gear, also found I had a boost leak which eventuly became audible and noticable.  it was in the breather lines, small T shaped rubber hose with 3 lines coming into it under the intake manifold.  I replaced this piece (small tear in top) and have not had any smoking issues.  but then again I had 2 random starts with little smoke a couple days ago, I too am using about 1 qrt every 2000 miles, but I am sure there is also a leak somewhere as I cannot keep the belly pan clean of oil.
   
  for what its worth, maybe check this out, part number == 034 133 367E has another number on other side == PXO 416 224
