Hi Randy:
Tips:
Replace the metal gasket on the drain plug every time and don't over
tighten. The torque spec is around 20 ft-lbs, IIRC.
Use a 6 point socket on the drain plug. If its rounded at all, buy a new one
and install it.
Use a good filter such as a Mahle OC47.
Yes, the belly pan is a pain. It helps to bend it slightly to engage the
front "fingers". Make sure all of them are in, then screw in one of the side
screws to hold it, then do the other side. The inner fender liner has to be
pulled out and goes over top of the belly pan. Put the 5, 1/4 turn bolts in
last.
I assume you took your car to a dealer or a good indie as the quicky lubes
will mess up the belly pan up and some of the fasteners may be missing.
