This is pretty common with large diameter exhausts with tight clearances- my
old Borla system on the A4 did the same in heavy heavy rain or heavy snow-
this was the original 2.5" system, not the later 2.25" system.

Funny thing is, my 80mm exhaust on the STi does not do this at all, so I
guess
there is more clearance on that car. I'd bet that Mustang owners have issues
as
well (unless you have side exhausts) due to the tight clearances around the
rear
axle.
