There have been a few updates to the connectors (not in either document above) including the use of Volvo four pin connectors at the ECU to coil system connection (where the POS used to come into play):

Assuming you can pick up the 115 L (or 115 R) coil packs for about US$25 each, your parts will come to about US$260.  But it has been done for as low as US$168 with good parts connections.  OR you can order a complete plug and play kit (15 minute installation) from some well know suppliers (Apikol and 034) for about $350.
