Hello everyone,
I hope that there is someone who can help me with my current problem with
my 1995 S6 with 130,000 miles running MRC RS2 software and original fuel
pump and CPS. Yesterday I went ahead and changed my leaking valve cover
gasket, spark plugs, spark plug boots, and oxygen sensor. I plugged the
battery back in and the car started with no problems and I let it idle for a
while. After a minute or so the check engine light comes on and stayed on. I
have had the light come on and off briefly over the past couple months and I
would just give the car some gas and it would go away. My car has been
idling smoothy and boosts with no problem up to 28 psi and holds it
nicely. So I decided to turn off the car and restart it to see if it would
go away. Now the car would not start. The ignition starts to crank the
engine over but the car won't start no matter what I try and how many times
I try. I know that two common things which can go wrong at this point are
the fuel pump and CPS. I thought maybe the spark plugs were flooded but I
took them out and they were not wet. The top of my list right now is the CPS
has gone but, will it just die on you just like that. I know I wouldn't be
able to tell if the fuel pump is bad becuase if it is the CPS, the fuel pump
is not going to turn over anyway. Any thoughts on if it might be something
else that has gone wrong. I don't think that any of the installation work I
did was faulty because I checked it over a couple times and I would expect
the car to start up on the first time and idle find if something was not
connected correctly? Thanks
Martin
