[s-cars] steering rack rebuild

David,

There are rebuild kits available, basically a set of o-rings and a  
new dust
boot, probably under $50 and no special tools necessary, just a  
commitment
to absolute cleanliness ( a little lint ball will shut it down) and  
the time to spend
on the job.

For me, the R/R is enough of a job.  I like Alvin's suggestion to buy  
the jacrac.
They have been the gold standard on rebuilt Audi racks for more than  
20 years.
