Thanks to all for your opinions(Eric, Taka, Igor, Mark, Matt, Alvin, Pizzo and others). They have made for a good read.   I can see the validity to many of the points that have been made.

In the end, for me, I'd personally prefer to be on the safer side, so I'll probably opt to go the RS2 Bracket route. My thinking is that Audi hopefully had a few more resources when they R&D'ed that system over perhaps many of these aftermarket folks.  Since I prefer to tote around my precious cargo in the Avant (2 boys) and for some strange reason really enjoy hurtling down the front and back staightaways at VIR in my 4,000 lb hunk of lead (er, aluminum, steel, plastic, leather and some other undefined goo beneath my kids car-seats) the piece of mind may be worth it for me.

For those of you running the RS2 brackets, what size (length) bolts are used?
