Bob, say it isn't so! I'll be sorry to see you leave; maybe you can just
hang around for the camaraderie :) Of course, we might talk you into another
S-car....
I know what you mean about the old hot rodding spirit. It's much more
satisfying when you build it yourself. Of course in those days the cars were
as likely as not to leave you stranded by the side of the road, and if you
built it you could also fix it...
Hope you won't be signing off for too long. Good luck with the sale of your
car!

Corey,
Thanks. I know I will miss my car but as much, I will miss the community of
great guys who own these cars. I don't know what it is about the community
that makes it so strong. Something to do with being a car enthusiast
without just going out and buying something off the showroom floor that has
400 horsepower. I grew up in 50's and 60's when hotrodding was the rage.
My first car was a '28 Ford that I bought when I was in grade 12. I never
got very far in rodding it as I spent my time and money at university but,
back then you wouldn't buy a rod from some factory - a hot rod was something
you built. You would trade parts with friends and pick up stuff where you
could. Forty years later and the group of "Audi friends" reminds me of
those good old times. My wife says that I will need to get a dog so that I
will have at least one friend when my car is sold. I am especially grateful
to you and Adam, and the Vancouver guys - Dave, Sean and Gabriel. Also
thanks to Fred Munro, James Murray, Elijah Allen, Robert Myers, Wayne
Dohnal, Igor Kessel, Keith Maddock and a host of others who have helped me
with particular problems or supplying parts. This is sounding a little
hokey, like I'm accepting an Oscar so I'm going to quit.
Thanks,
Bob, possibly signing off for a while.

Hey Bob,
Sounds good! There is another S4 (stock) for sale up here in Canada...
but it's a long ways away. The price may make up for that though at $4950.
Looks mint and only 133,000km's too. Black on black. The only downside is
that it's way out in Newfie land, but I have contacts with SeaRail and I
estimated shipping to cost about $1500 (unless it's driven back).
Just food for thought!
Corey

Corey,
I have spoken to Rob who is interested in my car. I sent him pictures
and he is coming by on Friday. If he gives me the money I want I believe at
this stage I will sell it and do as you suggest - put the money away and
possibly buy another in the Spring or at some time down the road, or maybe
not, depending on my situation at the time. At any rate, thanks for giving
him my number. We'll see what happens.
Bob
