[s-cars] S6 front control arms

The 6 to 8 ft steel bar is really handy to separate the control arm from the
hub but two people are kind of mandatory if you want to get them together at
some point. With some practice, doing it alone is feasible but I would not
tempt it if you're not experience with the way to get the ball joint back in
the hub: pulling on the bar with one hand, aligning the ball joint with a
second hand and pushing on the hub with your third hand.

The key tool is a 6 to 8 foot long steel bar, Teddy. Sometimes you need two
people on the bar if the control arm has been in there for ~150k km in the
salt belt.

you know, i never did figure out how to separate the upright from the
balljoint. i disconnected both antiroll bar brackets and had both front
wheels off the ground. but i just couldn't get the upright separated
from the balljoint.
i was trying to replace a torn balljoint boot. after wrestling with it
for a while, i gave up. i decided to just let it die, and replace the
entire control arm when the time comes.
