[s-cars] General question - appropriate unloaded battery voltage

Well, that part is good.  What really determines the condition of a 
battery, however, is a load test - measuring its ability to maintain 
adequate voltage while delivering a large current.

The tool, which virtually any place that works on cars should have, is 
basically a hand held toaster with a meter on it.  I don't think you 
even have to know "numbers" to use it, the meter is marked in your basic 
green - yellow - red type pattern.
