Guy on Audiworld D2 Forum got offered $22.5K from dealer on 2002
black/black S8 with 73K miles, Audi CPO until 9/07 or 100K.
I think $1K above that or better will get the car. Seems worth it to me
if in good shape.
I do not know seller, no affiliation.

Seems like a decent deal, like you said assuming the car is what it
should be. By the time I buy a warranty that'll prolly be maybe $2k
more than mine - and that one gets CPO for basically a year which is
pretty cool and near 20k less miles than mine for only a few bucks more,
in a great color combo. Score for someone, certainly not the seller
<gasp>. Amaaaaazing how these have fallen, poor bastage sellers / lucky
bastage buyers.
6 week report in mine... the "short short version" (Spaceballs) - this
car is brilliant (unlike it's owner). BRILLIANT. Does everything I
want / need it to with aplomb and in ways that waywaymore than erase not
rowin for meself. Way. Substitute the word 'rowin' for 'Ronin' is more
accurate.
Funny anecdote:
We moved offices here out of sunny "Downtown" Hartford (or lackthereof)
to new space in Windsor near the airport. Since the move I've had
probably near 80% of the guys I work with 'suddenly' take interest in
what I drive and ask me about it. Course they ask if it's my "A8 out
there" - um - no - tho there is a silver '97 in mint shape out back
which is weird. Interesting is how no one or much less cared to bother
with my green car and now all these people I basically never talk to
suddenly care.
Foolz.
Funnier anecdote:
Drive an //S8 - people GTFooTW!!!!!! That is all.
