So I pulled my shift boot off and made an interesting discovery.  I only 
have one rod doing all the shifting, unless there's one underneath that 
I can see.  My friend's A4 has two (that he can see).  And that raised 
an interesting question.  Is that difference because he has an 01A and I 
have an 01E or because he has a B-chassis and I have a C-chassis?  Did 
the C4 100/A6 have the 01A, and if so, how many rods?  Or does the B5 S4 
with the 01E only have one rod?
