[s-cars] Looking at an 1995 S6 avant today ...advice on what to look out for?

Peter-
Some things that you didn't mention:
Check the shock towers for cracking
Check the power steering rack mounting points for fatigue
Check for play in the driveshaft u-joint
Rear trapezoidal links, check for play
Corrosion in the rear hatch panel
Proper function of the climate control
Exhaust system- were the cats ever replaced?
Engine mounts, trans mounts
Control arm and swaybar bushings
Whining or grinding of the transmission
Any slop in the rear diff?
Boost hoses, crossover pipe and intercooler condition
Lower door trim?
