This job is easy in the Avant - I couldn't imagine having to do it in the Sedan.  You will have to remove the third seat cover panel that is hinged on the edge toward the front of the car.  I also remember removing the seat belt receptors, as they prevent the carpet from being flipped foward.  Lastly, the two hold downs for the cargo net must also come out.
