[s-cars] radio volume problem

Hey guys, the radio in the wifes S6 is acting up. When you turn it on the volume goes up a little too loud and when you try to turn it down it rockets to full volume. Any fixes for this or am I looking at having to replace this one. I do have a spare but I don't have the security code. Does the dealer charge way too much for the code now? Thanks for any help.
