[s-cars] radio volume problem

I had a similar problem with the volume knob. I had an extra unit without a
code. I was told by several dealers the only way I could get the code was
to go to a dealer and have them hook up the car to their computer and audi
would give them a code. I was less than pleased. I could not justify
driving 40 minutes, waiting for my car to get into the shop, paying $50 or
more and then driving another 40 minutes home. I finally said fuck that and
swapped the volume knob from the codeless head unit into the original head
unit with a code. it was a fairly delicate operation but it took less time
than driving to the dealer and back and gave me the satisfaction of screwing
audi out of $50!

Subject: [s-cars] radio volume problem
Hey guys, the radio in the wifes S6 is acting up. When you turn it on the
volume goes up a little too loud and when you try to turn it down it rockets
to full volume. Any fixes for this or am I looking at having to replace this
one. I do have a spare but I don't have the security code. Does the dealer
charge way too much for the code now? Thanks for any help.
Elijah
