[s-cars] UrS fuel smell around tank

Thanks Chris.
Agreed with all that. He's filling it today and we left the access
cover off to see if just that is happening up top there. We saw 'some'
residual around the top of the fuel pump basket, around the black
plastic circle that looks like a 'vent' maybe. Either that or the
braided return line that's clamped is compromised under pressure.
Tx again for the thoughts.

Paul,
If it was coming from the seam it would be obvious, I'd
start by looking elsewhere (other than replacing a tank is
not fun).
We had the same problem on our black S4, turned out to
be the external plastic portion of the fuel level "float"
was cracked and if the car was filled up gas would be
forced out when the tank was pressurized.
Another spot to check is the fuel filler's rubber line, if it's
leaking there a quick fix is to tighten/replace the clamps.
BUT I would advise inspecting the line carefully for deteriation,
I doubt a clamp would simply loosen up there.
