sounds like it, or maybe the oil temperature sender.

the question is, do you feel lucky?

i wouldn't recommend driving it much until you fix it.  mine started 
leaking, and got bad very quickly.  enough for the car to be down a
quart in 12 miles of freeway driving, much of it on the floor of the
parking garage.  i topped off the oil and drove home at the end of the
day.  it was down more than a quart when i got home.

the car didn't move an inch until i replaced the sender a few days later.
the good news is that the sender is cheap from the dealer, maybe about
$10, and it's very easy to replace.
