James:

It appears that this mod is for the IR remote system found on the 1992-1995.
Not sure if the same applies for the RF systems found in the later S-cars
(1995.5-1997).

Even if it did work, you would lose the OEM transmitter - in Fred's and
mine's case, the switchblade.
