[s-cars] Speedo Info Needed: how to calibrate/adjust

Hi team:

Those of you with long memories may remember my instrument cluster woes. I
was about to tear the cluster apart and get intimate with things like
"electronics" but scored a used one and finally installed it. (the avant was
sidelined getting the timing belt replaced, head rebuilt and an RS2 exhaust
manifold installed).

As far as the "new" instrument cluster goes, the tach works, the temp gauge
works, and no more flaky autocheck! In fact, it all works!!! And I am
stoked.

But the speedo registers 10mph lower than it should. Everything that could
effect the readings is stock (ie. wheel size, etc.). Is there an easy way to
crank up the needle on the MPH dial?

To whit: my old speedo needle sits at just below the 0 mph mark when the car
is at rest. This "new" one sits much lower when the vehicle is not moving,
pointing directly towards the left hand side of the " _" (flat part) at the
bottom of the the MPH dial. My other speedo points much higher up to the
left side of the bottom "_" (flat part) of the dial when at rest.

I don't want to take apart the instrument cluster (or even remove it,
seriously!), because my problems started when replacing the ignition switch.
The I-cluster is testy! I suppose I'm dreaming when it comes to a simple
fix! LOL!

Thought I'd throw it out there, though. . .. :-)

Solutions?

Tom
