Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice Scotty NOICE!!!
That's a pretty encouraging review, interesting to know - go figure.
I've not yet flogged either an E39 ///M5 (grrr, E28 and E34 and E60 but
conspicuous absence of E39, only 540 6spd), nor a 335i. Gonna hafta
change that. Guy at work got one and was supposed to when broken in,
but he won't say boo to me since the red 930 'trumped' (I'm sure in his
insecure mind) his red sedan. I hate people.
And GREAT point about BMW allowing some (non-AntiSeized) Loose (Torsen)
Nuts behind the wheel, very unlike Audi. Hmmmm.
Tx for the JNR report! Keep up the good work.

ps. are you "saving the date"??? 5/17, that is - heh heh heh...

Subject: Re: [s-cars] My butt momentarily in a BMW
I don't know much boys about any BMW specifications, but I did
swing by my old ProRally navigator's house over Thanksgiving. In his
garage sits 3 concours winning BMW's, a 2001 M5 coach edition (how did
they get leather to stick there?!), a 4 month old 335i coupe and a 20k
mile pristine E30M3 track car. His challenge was for me to
Paulie-JNR-test the 335 back to back with his M5. This was just a
drive, flog, and compare 2 chassis of the marque. No Idrive, weights,
specs, tire comparos, nuttin.
I'll only say this, that 335 coupe is not only a fine looking
machine (better than the latest M5 chopped taurus look) but it hands
down handled better than his '01 M5. After serious redline flogging of
both, I just wanted so hard to give the nod to the M, but couldn't. Not
close. And my comment was that the xi versions of this driveline and
chassis will give audi a reason to sweat. As a turbo guy for over
20years, to *not know* I was driving one, like at all, I give all the
kudos to BMW for upsetting the apple cart once again, and for now
clearly infringing on Audis turf.
And, to add insult to injury, left foot brake, heel toe, no BMW
engineer decided the nut was too loose behind the wheel and cut the
drive by wire on your behalf, ala audi.
I wasn't that impressed with a machine since I was at his place
a couple years ago driving his X5 sport...
