Steve;

Don't know about the Bilsteins, but with the upper washer in place Koni and
Boge shocks engage all the threads on the nut but not the nylon threadlocker
insert. I used blue Loctite on the nut to secure it and torqued it to spec.

Subject: [s-cars] Help on 2B camber plates install

Guys,

Finally getting around to installing these beauties...but it won't quite
work. There doesn't seem to be enough threaded shaft to get the nut on
the strut completely. Removing the lower strut cap/sheath gives a
couple of threads, but to get it tightened up the way it should, I can't
use any upper washer, and 2B did supply one for that purpose. The
instructions do say remove lower and upper washers on the car, but I
can't see going without any upper washer at the nut.

Experience on this? The struts are supposed to be Bilstein Sports that
were part of the Abt/Eibach/Bilstein set-up the PO put on the car.
They appear to have no more than 1 1/2" of thread; can't remember
whether that's right, as it's been too long since I wrenched shocks into
the departed S6 sedan.

Glad I finally got around to this anyway. He had the stock plates
slotted to where there's maybe an eighth of an inch left at the edge...

Thanks in advance,

Steve
