i haven't found the ESP to be intrusive on my biturbo S4 avant.
from what i understand, the only time people find the ESP annoying
is at the track.

the BMW DSC is much more intrusive.  once it intervenes, it aggressively
cuts throttle and keeps power reduced until you're going almost completely
straight.
