[s-cars] Belly pan blues (95 S6A)

What's surpise me the most in this thread is nobody thought that a basic
jig-saw will create all the trap doors you need for oil plugs and filters in
an OE plastic belly pan within seconds. I never had this issue as, lucky
canuck as I am, I usually have access to a DIY garage with a lift, so
reinstalling the belly pan is a matter of seconds, eyes wide-shut.

Why develop a new belly pan out of resonating aluminium that will probably
become really ugly once you've hit a few gravel-and-salt mix spots when you
can simply take your preferred jig-saw and cut all the openings you want? I
would probably not go the open-close trap route in that case as it will
probably creates extremely annoying whistle at high speed. Just leave it
open under the filter and the oil plug. AFAIK, there is nothing fragile in
these areas.

My cheap 0.02$

I hear some folks use zip ties to secure things. WRT dealer pricing, I got
a new belly pan ~ $200 from my local dealer here in Maryland. I balked at
the stated price (~$240)and asked if that was the best they could do. This
was about 2 years ago for currency reference.

Regards,

Mark

Seems like a lot of you have trouble with the bellypan (installing and
removal). To make it a lot easier to install , don't use the plastic screws.

Mine were missing when I bought the car , promptly bought new ones,
struggled with them due to warped fender liners. After loosing a couple
never bothered with them again. 5 metal Dzus fasteners and I am done.
